The best way I found is to use earliners and remove the cartliage and use pink chalk shaved into your epoxy. Put some part A on paper plate and mix chalk in to desired color then mix with part B.
No finish work no painting ...........looks very good with no paint.
Good luck, Jim
Hey, get you some anmimal hair white from Van Dykes. It's make by Don Holt, and is in the african specality paints. It's a laquer paint, and is whitish pink- with a hint of blue. Use your air brush and give your ears a heavy coat, then blow it out real good with the high pressure air hose, and use a old tooth brush and your fingers to get it out of the hair after it's dried. The high pressure air gets rid of the grainy look of the laquer on the skin.
It really makes a nice colored ear. I really like it for deer, that dosen't have allot of hair in their ears.
Try this, you will like it.
Try 5 part white and 1 part pink and very lightly spray.(what I do is walk away from it after I spray it then come back and look at it with a "fresh set of eyes") it might need another "dusting"of paint. works for me!
The beauty of what Jim is suggesting is there WILL BE NO PAINT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE EARS! You mix the color with your earliner adhesive and voila! pinkish colored ears. There is no need to pull and pick paint off of the hair. I do not use the colored chalk but the concept is the same. You can use water based red paint or tempera paint,(powder or liquid) to tint with.

Jonas makes paint called "deer ear". It is a pinkish/tan color. Just spray it on, let it dry, and it will brush off the hair.
