Thinking about trying either a jody green form or a Matuska form for whitetails. and was wondering if anyone has tried the two to compare them. they both look like nice forms, but how are they to mount on. such as for northern deer. i usally use meder but have problems with sizes some time but would also like to just expieriment a little. any input would be great. you dont have to bash one or the other just compare the two.
Thanks

a jody Green form ?
I highly recommend the Competitor's Choice mannikins from Matuska. I've been using them for a while and love how they fit Wisconsin deer. After using them, I actually cut the head of another form that I'll keep nameless off and replaced it with a Competitor's Choice change out head. It fit 100% better. Good luck!
Fred,
I've used both forms and they are both great forms. I don't know what sizes Van Dykes has all available for Jody's deer but they mount up very much like Joe Meders. Jody lives where the big deer are and knows how to sculpt them. They fit my Dakota deer and the Illinois deer he gets so I would say your northern deer also going to be right on the money.
Competitor's Choice mannikins are also right on the nose for Iowa, Wiaconsin, Nebraska, and Dakota deer. They mount up pretty easily and very few if any alterations are needed. The head is very nice to work with Brian Olson, Mike Yeska, and Pat Wagner know deer and came up with a real winner with these mannikins.
I rate the mannikins (as far as what I have used and what customers want)
1. Joe Meder
2. Jody Green
3. Competetitor's choice
4. Joe Coombs
5. McKenzie (Dennis Behn) (customer love the 6500 series)
6. McKenzie (Buckeye)
and then some I will never try again ----- LOL
I still need to try the Matt Thompson and Ben Mears and some others
But like with anything this is my opinion and every deer is diiferent -- it would be fun to clone a deer over and over and mount that exact deer on all the different forms that are out there to really see what is the "best". I would bet CUR would be able to come up with an experiment for that one.
