I have read through the archives extensively on this and I did find some information but I have a specific question. I have been using the bondo method on my ears and have had pretty good luck. I tried magic ear last year and I like that even better than the bondo. Anyway I was wondering if anyone has used earliners with the cartilage attached along with magic ear as the adhesive and if so what type of earliners. My ears are coming out good but I cant seem to get a consistent shape and I figured if I use an earliner it will assist in keeping a uniform shape. I am concerned that with the earliner they might be too thick or the adhesive might not hold and they may drum too much. Yes I know I probably need to stop screwing around and remove the cartilage like most of the posts I have read but I have a real nice 23+ inch Maine deer that I am doing and I dont want to practice cartilage removal on it just yet. Also if magic ear is not the best adhesive for this I would appreciate any recomendations. Thanks for all your help.

In the years before I removed cartilage I used to use a paper punch to make holes in the earliners and then use whatever adhesive your using to hold them together. I even used a thin coating of bondo for awhile. It worked but made a little thicker ear. Removing the cartilage is the best way to go.
They sell a thing called Accu Ears. It is shaped like the inner ear and after you do the Bobdo you shape it and then insert the accu ear iand let it harde. That way you get consisten ears all the time. If you have any qwuestions e-mail me.

That's what we used before plastic. Same with the hole punch. We did that on the plastic ones because no one had any glue that would adhere to the plastic so we punched holes in them.
I guess you could use aluminum flashing cut to ear shapes, but the polyester ones are just too thick for my likings.
The Magic Ear will work fine as an adhesive, but why waste it. Buy the Liquid Fast Set (same thing but WITHOUT the silk fiber reinforcement) and use it instead.
McKenzie makes a special liner to use with the cartilage left in. Has room for the iner ear. Eras forward only though. They also sell a two part adhesive to use with this liner.
I use a medium-size set of earliners as a "form" when using Ear Magic...I simply put Ear-Magic inside between skin/cartiledge and work it back and forth until it has coated the whole ear...I then place ear over top of my "earliner form" and smooth it in place..for extra thinning I will take and roll the edges of the ear with a small jar or can. Do this just while the earmagic is beginning to warm up and it will form up really well...whatever works, good luck!
