Mache That Hide Paste Will Stick To?

I like to preset my antlers and earliners in mache before mounting. However, my hide paste (Buckeye Supreme) will not stick to my mache (McKenzie brand). It must be borax based. Is there another brand of mache that Buckeye Supreme or Epo -Grip water based hide paste will stick to? Trying to stay away from clay if possible.

They also make a hide paste for dry preserved skins. It should work for you. It is just Buckeye hide paste not called Buckeye Supreme.

I preset my antlers and sculpt my earbuts as well and never have a problem. Also I find that my ears need little or no painting because of its pink base color. Sticks as good as Buckeye supreme for a fraction of the cost too.
