how much thinning do i need to do I have read to take it down till you see blue but is it a must. I have a shefield fleshing knife and it is verry hard to thin the hide with it can you mount with out thinning.

Yes you can mount with out geting it that thin. But you will get alot of shrinkage as it dries and you will lose some stretch as well. Just make sure you thin around the eyes ear butts and nose pad real good with a scalpal or sharp knife you should be ok.
