I'm doing my first pedestal mount. I receved the form today it's a meder pedestal form. My question is how to attach the form to my mounting stand. There is no board molded into the back of the form. I will be useing some square alluminum tubing with some square stock to fit inside to make the mount removeable from it's base. I thought about mounting the deer without useing my stand but I'm really against this and want to find a better way. Any info will help.

I mount quiet a few pedestals ,but I have never had one without am board, I order mine from McKenzie hope this helps
Jim, I have made several pedestal mounts from altered forms with no wood blocks in them or the blocks were in the wrong place for a mounting stand. I just cut out a chunk of the form and set in blocks as needed using bondo to hold them in place. Once set they held fine for attatching to the mounting stand. Enjoy, Aaron H.
When I mounted a pedistal using that form I mounted the rod into the form, then I took a piece of 2x6 and drilled a hole in the top of it the size of the rod coming out of the form. You screw the block to your stand and simply set the rod down in the hole that you drilled in the top of the 2x6. If you want to make it a little more secure you can put a screw in through the 2x6 and run the tip of the screw right up against the rod running into the center of the 2x6. I hope this helps. Ryan
