s, If this is a recently mounted ear you can make it better pretty easily but older mounts are more challenging. I would first rehydrate the inside of the ear a bit- place a damp rag inside the ear and tie in place a day or so. As soon as the ear feels a little soft cut a small slit through the inside skin/cartilage- I would make this cut into the drummed area on the innermost area of the ear. Inject with a syringe some epoxy glue, plug the hole with a little cheap potters clay (it will be brushed away later), distribute the glue in the drummed area by finger pressure, place a tightly folded dry rag inside the ear and clamp it in place with pressure against the drummed area.Leave it that way about a week so the ear can dry well and the skin should stay. Repair the little cut, paint and finish. NOW, next time you can avoid this usually by cleaning the ear well and blow drying it inside before mixing the bondo. Be sure that you get the ear positioned and the bondo all smoothed out BEFORE the bondo starts to set. Many ear problems happen because we continue to move the ear skin after the bondo starts to jell. Enjoy, Aaron H.

rehydrate

You could take a wet dish towel, wrapped the ear and placed a plastic shopping bag over the ear, squeeze out extra air, the ear should rehydrate over night, then you can take some 5 min. epoxie glue and a syringe and large needle and inject in the ear, I would put the glue in the inside about 1/3 way down from the tip and work down the ear, you might try carding the ears when drying. After you rehydrate the ears I would wait a while before re-glueing, some of the glues will not stick to a wet skin.
Next time you try the bondo method, clean the ears with acetone, wipe them down good and then take a hair dryer or air compressor and go over the ears a few minutes, it will dry them out and the bondo will stick much better.

I use the bondo ear method all the time. I mix 50/50 bondo and fiberglass resin. Then add some chopped fiberglass and bondo hardener. Works for me.

Good Luck

Another thing that I use is to buy 2 sets of earliners for whatever you are working on and clamp them on the ear (inside-outside) as the bondo is setting, this will help form the ear.
