After Installing antlers to the form, what next?

After I install the antlers, what should I use to smooth out the transition from the skull to the form? Clay? This is my first Deer mount

paper mache. U can get it from any taxidermy supplier.

potters clay is what i use and i use critter clay to mold the eyes hope this helps


I like Bondo with Cabosil

Mix it thick, putty knife it on and then cover with plastic freezer wrap. Shape it under the plastic till it kicks and then finish shaping it with a Surfoam tool, rasp or knife. Then I clay in the transitions muscles.

Then you can push the seam down into it after sewing.

I mix 1/3 mache to 2/3 plaster of paris. Works great for me
