Drying Deer capes

Been pretty much a bird, fish, and small animal/reptile taxy man. More a specializing person. I have done an occasional deer shoulder mount / year. I know this is where the money is and looking to do a few more. Though my new location doesn't allow me at this time to have "loads" of freezers, I have heard you can stockpile in a dry cool room dried capes. I know that you have to salt to get the moisture out, but do you pour the liquid, re-salt, drain, repeat until no liquid is left and let the air dry it out? How long can the dry capes be OK before you have to get to? Is there a chemical needed to rehydrate or store dried capes?

Can anyone guide me through this process. thanks in advance.

Though I tried doing that before I always came up empty. The more I use my browser to "go to" things I come up with "Page NOT FOUND" scenario. Changing browsers tomarrow. Thanks again.
