Just alter the form you like best to better fit the deer. Its the way we do it. Thank God for foam!

For what it's worth

I have just recently spoken with the folks over at McKenzie and they are phasing-out the new, skinny heads because of too many complaints. All you have to do is ask for the old style heads. I have never really cared much for the head-up and head-down forms. The 6500 series is a great line of forms, my personal favorite from McKenzie (How about that, I agreed with George on something!). For those northern deer, I really like forms from Ben Mears. They fit very nicely.

just went to ben mears web site;like what i saw;had ordered an 8400 form for my oct bow kill 9 point 18 inch outside spread;have lots of pictures and dont see that narrow nose bridge;not to say the 8400 is a bad form, i just think i can fit the bridge of the nose better, thanks

I would think a smaller form is better than a larger cow like forms from Van Dykes.. Isnt easier to sculpt UP than carve down?

MOST of the time it is easier to make a form smaller than to make it bigger. It really depends on what type of alterations are needed.

I've noticed this too. I thought it was just me. The nose and face in general seems quite a bit smaller than their forms in the past. I'm glad McKenzies are working on changing this problem.

I hate to add to this but.........

I just got a complaint from a customer/friend i was doing a mount for about the bridge of the nose being to small (skinny) It was a summer coat deer which made it worse.
