I'm used to having my hides wet tanned and recently went to a tannery that dry tans everything. Now I'm having trouble getting the ear cartilidge out without making a lot of holes. I soak my hides about 1/2 hr then drain them for a few minutes and then put in the fridge for 18-24 hrs. Is this long enough? How long do you guys sweat your hides out before removing the cartilige?
