split ear

I only mount a few deer a year. My buddies boy got one to mount thought Id use this one for show its ear is split about 3-4 inches would you fix it or leave it natural thanks

I mount them with the split, that's the way the were in real life. Plus I find it easier to mount with the split than to try to repair them..

Just notch the ear liner to match the notch in the ear.

Keep it simple.

Just put on a long dangling ear ring and nobody will even notice.(LOL) Peace. Jeff F.

I try to fix the real big tears by eithor sewing or glueing them. If it's just a small notch in the ear though, I leave it and make sure to put it in line when I card them for drying.

i would have to say that I would leave it cuz it would look better that way I have onlya a coupe of mounts yet I would have to say that is the way I would do it but by all means do it your own way!
