I left my Apoxy Sculpt in my shop a day or two it got close to 32 degrees at night. The next time I used it was replaceing an broken tine. For some reason it would not harden or dry and I mix two different time to make sure I had a 50/50 mix. My question is it because of being left in my cold shop. I bought it last year and usely keep in the house til I need it. Thanks for any info.

You might want to double check the supply companies statements on the product. Are you sure you mixed it enough? Also, in a cold/damp environment it will take longer to set up...
I`am sure I mixed it good the second time, and I have never had trouble with it before. I even let it set for three days and it wouldn`t hold. I wouldn`t think it would get old but thats what it seemed to be. thanks for your input.
shop doesnt have heat on at night and we live in the northeast part of Georgia and we have had no problems with ours.So maybe you have a bad batch?

I remember reading a couple other posts where taxidermists had the same trouble with that product. Sounds like a quality control issue to me. Might want to try Magic Sculp. I use it and it has never failed to harden. I have some that is five year old and it still works good.
Here recently with my last batch I purchased, I mixed three batches, each about the size of a golf ball, maybe a little bigger..and all 3 times they never set... yet I could take the same product and mix a small batch, grape size and it would set in 3 to 4 hours.
I was using it to recreate a tree limb, a small one, and each time I let the product sit for 2 days thinking, it just hadn't cured yet.. but one I even let sit for a week, and it still never kicked.
finally on the fourth try, it worked.. but I had already wasted a good portion of a not so cheap product.
Even up to the 2nd try I tried to convince myself that I was just a moron and had mixed it wrong.... I weighed the third try and the fourth as well... the third flopped the fourth worked..
I agree.. I think there may be a quality issue with this product. I've used it many years now, and had always thought it was kinda "idiot proof" even if you had the mix ratio off, it would still kick eventually.

Didn't mean to insinuate somebody was a "moron" by not mixing thoroughly. I must be a moron then because I still occasionally don't mix enough! I'll get a soft spot here and there once in awhile. When that happens I'll just pick out the soft area and re-epoxy right over it. Mixing for two minutes is too long! Unless you're mixing a ton at a time. I usually use a teaspoon t a time or less. I mix until I see the color is uniform and maybe a bit longer if I'm up for it...
