tempra paint and ears

Submitted by Joey Arender on 3/17/05 at 10:28 AM. ( J32a@aol.com )

Just wandering if i can mix tempera paint with my hide paste when placing my ear liners and have the color bleed through rather than spraying them? I am just curious, or is spraying them the best way to go or could both be used?
Thanks Joey A.

You can color your hide paste with tempra. I like to you use water based hide paste and water based paint. Some ear pastes are pre-colored. I have found that I will usually still have to spray a little color on them.

On the same thought pattern, you can also lightly scrape pastel chalk into your adhesive. This too, will color like the tempra and is a little easier to find. Steve Stienbring gave me the idea and he makes Epo-Grip! Peace. Jeff F.

Thanks Guys

I will try it out on my next deer and see what happens.

although they get bashed here, they sell a creamy peach paint in the craft dept. that works well.
