When ever i HAVE TRIED TO mount coyotes, they always start to stink when taken out of a liquid solution to clean them, or more or less just to rinse/soak them. I typically take them out of this solution and use DP on the head, mount it, and stretch the rest of the hide out for a rug and alum paste. All in all, when soaked and drying, the wet fur always stinks, and afterwards, the fur still somewhat has a slight smell. I want to kow what longlasting deodarizers you all suggest

Knolblochs has a finishing deodorizer which might work for you-but be warned,it smells like a very strong pinesol,so you have to weigh the decision of which smell would be worse.I had a rotting deer cape that I was able to save and mount, the smell after mounting was horrible,I did use the finishing deodorizer-which did take away the rotting smelland then I put this deer next to an open window for a couple of weeks so that the mount wouldn'tbe overwelming when the customer picked it up and it turned out fine.
turned out fine for who?
I rinse and degrease mine before I put them in the tanning solution..all I use is dawn dishwashing soap...after the tan and it`s neutralized I then wash them with dawn again..sometimes liquid tide..
I allways wash mine in washing machine with disenfectant soap
and spin it out. Then i wash it again with Downy fabric softener
only, spin out,run it thru tumbler DP and mount. Never have had
an odor problem.
