Bill, Look at the instructions Amy has printed on her web-site. They were the very instructions I followed when I used to tan in-house. Do remember to wear gloves and safety glasses when dealing with these chemicals. Peace. Jeff F.
I always have used gloves but never glasses. Why wear glasses, I mean how often is the pickle going to just splash up in your face? Even if it hits the face, what are the chances of it going in my eye? Well, I got the answere about 2 months ago, I was in a hurry cause I was late to be some place as it was. I was trying to mix my pickle, so I put in the ounce of saftee acid and then the salt, and started to mix with my hand. Well, I was using a container that is shaped in a rectangular shape ( clear container from Wal-Mart). You know what happens when you make that circular motion to mix the salt in a container that is not round? If you go to fast the water slushes when it trys to go around the corners, well I was in a hurry and trying to stir to fast with my hand while leaning over the water, it slushed and about a half of an ounce went straight into my eye. I didn't even have time to close it!
It burned like heck, but I didn't know wether it was the salt or the pickle, I had the hose sitting right there and I just flushed it for about a minute, then dried my face and it felt fine. Man, talk about scared, I am glad I was using an acid that is not all that strong!
So now I wear my glasses!
Anyone else ever do that kind of thing?
