Most of the different tans call for salting the hides. Salt for a day,shake it off then reapply for another day. Then pickel. I was wondering can the shaked off salt be used in the pickel mix? Or is it ruined.

The salt should not be used, it will contain fat and oils that you do not want in your pickel solution.
The salt from the first application will certainly be no good. Sometimes if the salt from the second application is clean I will use it in the pickle. Use fresh salt when in doubt.
