Ear Magic?

How many of you have tried Ear Magic for your deer ears, and did you like the results? I am looking into buying some for my next practice mount. I've already tried ear liners and I'd like to try something new next time.

Works Great

Acceptable alternative to bondo ears . The consistancy was a little tough for me to get used to . I mixed a little up for a racoon I did and thought it was to thick so I stuck it in the microwave for a couple seconds like I do my majic smooth . Don't ever do that . The epoxy kicked before I even got to the table . I had a good laugh on myself that day. Its good stuff .

top of the line.

Steve gave one heck of a semmmiar at our State show and got a lot of new folks to get it. He let people try it who never did it and those who did and didn't understand it well. After the semminar folks were amazed on how nice the ears came out.

ear magic is the way to go

ive done hundreds of ears with bondo
but
you just cannot match the thickness you can achieve with ear magic
the first couple i did i tried to pour it in like the bondo
it was a little messy
so
the next time i applied it directly to the cartilage
after inverting the ear
the flip it back and hand form it till it starts to kick
use good reference and make sure to wipe the excess off before it completely hardens
also
you must card the ear for a couple of days
ive used poly mesh and the metal screen mesh also
the cool thing about ear magic is the way you dont have to sew a small tear
the ear magic glues or seals the heck out of it and it will not drum
now im not saying do away with ear liners
i think they have there place
but most of the time ear magic is my choice
good hunting

Isn't ear magic super expensive? I thought I remember seeing that it was like $40 or something.

it is

I looked in the WASCO catalog and Ear Magic costs about $42 for a 32 ounce kit. Thats the only size kit they have, so I ordered it. From what most of you say, it sounds like a really nice product

It may work

It may work, but so does Bondo, and you can get almost 2 gallons of Bondo for that price.

Bondo

My parents didn't want to let me use Bondo anymore because of all the fumes, so thats why I'm going with Ear Magic. Also I've heard it was much better than Bondo but I'll try it and see how it works out.

Price of ear magic

Yes the kit is ~$40, but the amount that you use for a set of ears is a fraction of what bondo I used. The smell is like a hair perm, but I don't know that they would make you goofy.
Another side note to the price: Start charging more for your work!
