Suggestions on opening a shop at my House vs. a Store Front

I'm going to be moving soon and I was wondering what some of your thoughts are in regards to opening up shop out of my house vs. opening up a shop in town. At my house I worry about the drain water from all of the salt solutions eventually contaminating my drinking water, people showing up at all hours even though you have signs stating that hours are by appt. only, etc. At a store front I worry about all the added expenses, etc. What are some of your thoughts? Thanks, Ryan

on your budget, if you can afford to buy or rent a shop away from home i think you are better off. store fronts are better in my opinion because you get other people in besides hunters. your call though, good luck!~

You don't get stuck in traffic on the way to work
but, you are always at work!
Your wife can always get a hold of you
but, you can't tell her you are to busy to talk to her because she is LOOKING at YOU!
Good Luck!

A shop in town will certainly attract more business. It is more professional and makes customers more confident in you.

The downside is the rent and utilities. It all comes down to whether the extra customer base is enough to cover it. You have to figure commercial rent is not cheap. My buddy paid $1200 for his shop, you have to figure that is $14k out of your pocket each year rather than work at home. Divide that by the profit margin on your mounts and you will know what kind of numbers you need to take in to make the same wage.
