Protecting your cape in the field

What can be done to a deer cape in the field if it is warm and you do not have access to a freezer or cooler right away?

Would be your best bet, But there is no sub for a taxidermist. So till there is, STOP-ROT is the cheapest insurance I have found. Joe

take a cooler full of ice, you need ice anyway for food dont you?
