Help with blood stains on white fallow deer cape

Submitted by Scott on 7/14/05 at 3:56 PM. ( ) 208.4.164.140

I checked the archives before submitting this. I have a white fallow deer cape that I am mounting that has alot of blood stains. I ordered some blood x from research mannikans and that did not work. I have tried dawn soap and some other detergents with no results. Does anybody have any ideas on what to do next. I had to put the cape in the auto tanner because I was afraid of it starting to slip.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Basic White in the archives. Follow directions in the posts you find, it will take care of your blood stains

Bleaching may have mixed effects

Nothing's stronger than Epo-Grip Bloodout/Degreaser on removing blood and blood stains, but with deer hair being hollow, I'm sure the blood has moved by osmosis into the core of the hair itself. This is next to impossible to remove and bleaching a hide is very harsh, but may be your only alternative.

magnesium carbonate and peroxide

this will work if you have any problem call me at (705)476-0483

I've done this on many polar bears, the worst was a dall sheep life-size and the entire body was very badly stained and salt dried and at some taxidermist for 5 years. Then taken to me ,bleached mount and a happy client.

Thanks

spray a little mean green on it and let it sit for 5 minutes then scrub it off.
