I recently called and placed an order for 2 deer hides with the taxidermy business called Art By Mikel. It has been 2 weeks and no capes and when i call, his voice mail is full... I sure i hope that i didnt get ripped off. Has anyone delt with this guy?

Mike and Debbie at Art by Mikel are good people. They are very busy, but have always sent us what we ordered. We order quite a bit from them and have always been pleased with what we have gotten. Just got in a great set of Kudu horns and cape just about 2 weeks ago from them. Just give them a little time, they will come through for you.
I did business with them a few months back and had no problems at all. They paid quickly and I would do business with them again.

Mikel has been under the weather,I deal with him yearly,just spoke to him the other week,he is very busy.I have little patients when it comes to waiting but all will be fine.....Earl
Look back in the taxidermy industry forum under kudu cape! thats who Ive been trying to do business with. I posted an ad for a kudu cape to sell or trade, Mike responded, after chatting on the phone we decided that I would send him the cape in exchange for 2 mounted pheasants that he assured me he allready had and that they were of resaleable quality.
he got my cape but I never got the birds, after a few e-mails he finally responded. Ill run down the list of excuses (for thoes of you who dont want to belive me I kept all our corrispondances) #1 somebody came off the street and bought them but he has more he'll just mount up a couple for me #2 had to go to a show didnt get to them yet #3 had to go to sons wedding didnt get to them yet #4 (this is my favorite) there mounted but its been raining here not good for drying things...... HUH....#5 still only need to be painted #6 my guy needs to build a crate for them then ill ship #7 havent gotten to them yet because chemotherapy knocked me for a loop!but he'll send a check,hhhmmm I wonder how long that is gonna take? this all happened over a period of 4 months. now you sit there and tell me what a good guy he is to do business with. I just hope your dealings are better then mine have been Good LUCK!
