Getting ready to my first fawn and im noticing that the hair is real fine and thin. Any advice on sewing it up so it doesnt show. Im talking about the relief cut i made (a small Y). Different thread etc...?

I never cut mine at all except a ventral and the lower legs, but if I did, I'd never use a "Y" when the straight "I" would work for relief. Two pound monofilament is about the only choice now with a very small needle and very close stitches.
Two fawns ago, I used an "I" cut at the base of the skull. George has since educated me on how to skin them without making a relief cut at all. Though my last fawn, I did have a small epidermal tear (cologen stayed intact but the epidermis tore" I used unwaxed light brown polyester thread. Sorry George but I still don't like the memory or feel of monofilament. But the stitches must be close! Joe
Give my "druthers", I'd go with anything BUT mono. That's why I learned how to do it without sewing at all. LOL.
