Have any of you ever had a customer bring in a doe to be mounted but they did not have the tag to show that it was a legal deer? If so how did you handle it?

No Mount. No Arguement. Why would you take a chance? I personally hate to see animals poached. I know it happens all the time. I just dont want to be part of it. I wont hunt w/anybody that doesnt keep within the regs either.
...inform your clients to tell the processor that you would be needing the "Kill Tag" for mounting purposes. Usually its attatched to the hawks or something. The processor logs in his info, cuts the legs off and out to the trsh it goes.
Have your customer call the DNR and explain the situation. MAYBE they'll be nice and give you a possession tag for the deer. Just Maybe.
But no tag, no service. Its just not worth the trouble.

It might help in my shop I have a sign it started as a joke sign my wife made me it reads NO TAG ON THE EAR OR REAR DON'T DRAG IT HERE now it hangs over the front door of my shop
