so I'm headed to the keys the end of October and was just curious if anyone thought they would be rutting by then. Need to know if I should pack a bottle of doe in heat with the bow for the trip.

Key Deer C&P
After decades of sport hunting, the Key deer was nearing extinction at the turn of the century. By the time Florida state law banned Key deer hunting in 1939, approximately 50 remained. The population began to recover after the National Key Deer Refuge was established on Big Pine Key in 1957. Unfortunately, this coincided with a boom in resort and residential development throughout the Keys which has steadily continued. In 1967, the Key deer received the dubious honor of being one of the original federally listed endangered species, and they remain on the list to this day.
After finding this surely you are joking!
They are protected . Rick
here's some more sarcasm for ya, wonder how much one of the SCI types would actually pay to shoot one?
