I bought a used Dakota V flesher from Charles Argo a few weeks back, and I'm really happy I got it. I recieved my kevlar gloves a few days ago and I've been practicing with the machine, fleshing one whitetail back-hide the first day, and several days later I fleshed out a deer cape. I love this flesher! It really beats taking hours to flesh out a cape with a knife and a few scalpels. Definately an investment that was worth it. I'd also like to thank Charles for selling it to me for the money that I had saved up, it would have been really hard for me to earn $629 on my own.

I just got my first fleshing machine last January and I wonder how I got along without it. It makes the work a whole lot quicker, easier and better. So far Ive not cut myself on it and Im thinking about the kevlar gloves being a good investment.
Good luck with your machine and BE CAREFUL!
I just built myself a fleshing Machine. I had it together for a few weeks and have only used it once since I am now caught up with all my stuff. It seamed to work realy well. I pulled it apart last weekend to prim and paint it. I am thinking about putting it back together tonight. I don't remember how much it cost me to build it but I think it was around $150 after I bought the fleshing wheel and belt. i used an old motor I had laying around.
Best taxidermy investment I've made! They won't cut you deep, they just take a thin slice out of your finger. Acid and salt really makes it smart. It'll only be sore for a few days.
Here's a funny story! I couldn't figure out why the toes on my new "New Balance" tennis shoes were shedding leather like crazy. Nobody else has this problem.I was talking to my neighbor about it when she said I was probably spilling something on them. DUH! I finally figured out that when I flesh the deer hides on the machine, the acid is getting on my shoes and eating them up. Ha Ha
Once you finally get a machine and learn how to use it,you keep asking yourself why did I wait so long to get it,they are well worth the investment to all those folks out there still waiting to get one. Good luck with yours Nina.
Wire wheel benchgrinder fleshing machine set up for going on 5 years now and still havent had to sharpen the blade yet.lol, Thanks again Steve for the great advice and helping me save piles of money.
