Couple of quick ones

Used Krowtann on a couple of deer last year for the first time. Liked the tan and ease of use but was close to not getting the hide over the neck. Stretch was very lacking. I know the directions mention using Krow-Oil but has anyone tried Kemal-4 to relax the hide (since I already have some on hand)? Also, received a head yesterday in velvet. Appears deer was within a day or two of starting to shed, horns appear well formed. I have Preserv-it on the shelf. whats the best way to preserve the velvet in this condition, (injection, sponging, or submerge) or a combination. When submerging a rack, whats the proper ratio to dilute the Preservz-it or full strength. Thanks a bunch.

if you fleshed and shaved well
that will take care of any problems getting back to size
and followed the directions exactly also
the thing is some capes take some elbow grease to get back to size
one minute of stretching will not be enough it may take 15 to thirty
minutes to get that critter back to size
now that being said i did find the krowoil made the thing get back to original size a little easier
the oil also helped the cape dry with almost no shrinkage
you can call ozark woods for some helpfull tips also

p.s. look in the archives and look up lawn tractor intertube
i believe George Roof had a helpfull hint about using a tube to stretch the skin out
good stretching paul e

Thanks
