This is my first time using Meder eyes and a Meder form and when I installed the eyes with the dark band pointing to the front (I assume this is the nic membrane) of the eye and what appears to be veining to the back the eye(s) seem to stick out on the back corners a little far. Is this correct ? When the eye lid gets pulled over the eye does it look any better? I did not use to much clay on the eyes either.

The Meder eye has not "black band" other that what on the eye. The Joe Coombs eye has a nictitating membrane cast in, but it's not one of my favorites.
To determine the correct positioning, lay the eye flat on atable, then look at it from the side. The bulged end is the front of the eye with the tapered end going to the rear.
I do have it that way but it seems like the angle on the eye itself is dramatic when installed on the Meder form. Like the eye would look correct if the forms preset eye socket wasn't so much on an angle. Its like the back of the eye (the part with more white) is sticking out to far and the front of the eye points in and the eye is almost 100% tight to the socket.
I use Critter clay and adjust my eyes anyway. I seldom use the eye flat against the "preset" forms. Can't address your specific problem however. Don't use Meder's forms.
I sent you some pics of the issue
Joe has a web site. go there and ask him..
So are you saying that the deers eyes seem to be angled too far forward? Sounds like the sockets on the form are pitched too far in. I know it varies from form to form depending on brand. Depending on the form I use depends on if I change the eye angles by deepening the socket and then building it back up with clay.
For example, the Buckeye Mannikins seem to be pitched pretty far inward. The Lancaster mulies seem to be not pitched in enough for my tastes. I actually prefer a deers eyes to be pitched inward too much rather than them being too much on the side of the face. I use Van Dykes mule deer forms and the angle seems to be perfect. I mount the form as is without modification. I believe that on Meder forms the sockets are pitched in quite a bit.
Thanks for the help. Your right Drew I think the combo Meder eye\ Meder form and the lack of experience on my part with this combo was the cause but after working with it I found it to give the deer a more agressive look because the brows are a little larger than what I'm used to. Not a bad thing with the right pose
