I have used DP for 10 years. I have not had problems with it yet. But a customer of mine wants his hide tanned. I have never used a tannery, and after finding one close to me, and asking what they want, i am comfused. What is wet tanned vs/ dry tanned? Which is better? When they say turn the eyes and lips, do they mean split them and flesh them? Anything else i may not think to ask, but that you may have advice on would be very helpful. I feel like im in the dark here. Thanks in advance.

Wet tanned is mount ready
Dry tanned is cheaper to ship and must be rehydrated before mounting
Yes! You need to turn the ears and spit the eyes, lips, and nose
Yes! You need to flesh the whole cape!
salt the crap out of it and send it in. Make sure you mark it so you know it's your cape when you get it back. Have a good one! Joe
For a taxidermist who's been doing this for 10 years, you need to check that orange SEARCH icon to the left there. Most of your questions have already been answered in there if you'll just ask.
