Rob Douglas, taxidermist, I want my three antler sets back I gave you this last Feb. Two were for you to keep in trade for mounting my 200" whitetail. For the last two months all i get is your answering machine or baby sitter. The sitter said she will have you call me, you don't. I have left numerous messages on your answering machinge of which you never return. Every time i call i can see you are screening all your calls because i never get a person unless it is the sitter. It is obvious you are avoiding me. Maybe you will read this, I hope so. Your police department will be ONE of my next contacts. All i want is my racks back, nothing else! Jeff

Rob , I know that was you who posted about the receipt. No, i don't have a receipt, who else would have know. That was my mistake. But to me that is acknowledgement that you have them and you know what you are doing. By the way how are things going for Cedar Valley Taxidermy otherwise. Any snow up there yet in Ironwood Michigan?
Not fending for anyone, but it could be worse. I know of another taxi in the area who has had someone's fisher in the freezer in ironwood michigan for about 5 years, and 2 years now on fish. I know of another who has been attending conventions offering "other" services now besides taxidermy, but yet is taking 2 to 3 years to return customers mounts, and recently mentioned " I am probably about to go under here, nobody picks up there mounts". well, i wonder why, they probably already went through the stages 1)excited for 5 months about where they would hang the mount 2) wondering when they would get it back since it has been 8 months 3) pissed off because now they are into another hunting season a year later! and now they have just told all of their buddies at camp "don't take your business there, you will never get it back" 4) and finally the stage that this post is at.
To the fellow missing the antlers, i would invest the time and take a drive over there. I have seen douglas's work and he does a pretty nice job, but i don't know anything about his business practices. If you didn't get a receipt, then that is even stranger. that should have made you wonder right there. I don't know of anyone who doesn't use them, they are the most binding thing we can get when a customer comes back and says, "I ordered driftwood" or " My fish was bigger than that, that isn't my fish" and we also use them to collect from deadbeats if need be. if you don't have one, then you just lost out, but in the same token, if he isn't using them, then he lost too because now you can always call the better busines bureau, and state licensing.
But what if the guy has a medical emergency, or a loss in the family, or who knows what. Just take a drive and show up at his shop.
