hey got a nice whitetail rack for free the other day and the guy had put varnish on it. I tried everything to get it off but the only thing that even came close to working was furntiture refurbisher. Laquer, alcohol and all that stuff didnt work any other suggestions that might make this task a little easier

Or MEK

Soak a towel in MEK and cover the rack. Put them both in a trash bag for awhile and then wash the rack off with MEK. USE RUBBER GLOVES AND ONLY IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. USE A RESPIRATOR.

Try Denatured Alcohol

Just in case that it isnt varnish. It could possibly have been
Shellac. The other HOT solvents will work MEK or reducers. Good Luck

What is MEK, where do I find it

What is MEK, never heard of it. Is it at a hardware store, or a taxidermy catalog.
