i got a nice 10 point in velvet to mount that was a roadkill. it was killed in august and was around 80 degrees and humid. i had him skinned, fleshed, and salted within 8 hours of his death. i just got the hide back from the tannery, (i used the wildlife gallery) and it has some spots on the front of the neck that appear to be epidermis slippage. is this common for early deer and can it be airbrushed or repaired in another manner? it really has very little hair as it is, its just the color of the leather in some spots. thanks in advance.

could it be road rash that was not noticed prior? 80 degrees is pretty hot to be handling fresh carcasses. It is hard to tell but I would think that it could definately have had an effect. Why did it take so long?
