amazed what the worms can do.
You see, sinew doesn't rot and much of the soft tissues will stick to the bones since they form a natural glue (just like the old jokes about horses being sent to the glue factory). The brain will grease stain the skull area and the gums will likely be stuck to the teeth. Burying it will work, but expect the skull to either be stained by dirt or by the leaves that end up covering it. Maceration is a good way as is simmering if you're in a hurry.
