I heard from a friend, that if you leave a raw cape in the freezer too long, the color will begin to fade/and or lose its definition. I had a whitetail buck cape that I bought raw, that was in a freezer for a few years. Having mounted that one back in October and comparing it to my buck I killed this year (that was just mounted a few weeks ago), my buck looks a lot better in terms of color. But this might just be the differences between the two deer, because the color of every deer varies.

Wow, what some idiots think off. Now if you said a fish changed colors all would agree. Tanning would change the color if anything would.
