in your hand about 1/2 inch run that around the bottom of the antler press it into the skull plate on bottom after you moun t the deer push clay up. this will help the hide stay next two the bottom of antlers then just check now and then as deer drys. it works 4 me.
Role of magic sculp, press in tight small brads tacked around.
Hope this helps.

I have also used magic smooth but it is a little messier than the apoxie
Bond-tite epoxy.
...your antlers are in the correct position, if everything is the correct size and in the right location it should all fit together like a puzzle with no help from these special super duper glues/apoxies, also it helps to have a good quality tanned cape, not sure what method you are using(commercial, in house tan, DP etc.) Hope this helps.
A 1/8 inch thick or so roll of apoxie sculpt right under the burr, and press the hide into it. Just adjust it a little during the drying period..it will not move once dried.
Have you tried? Use a little because it expands.
Buy this stuff at a hardware store or Wally World. Build up the base with epoxie sculpt to replace the meat and normal fleshy thickness of the scalp and set the mount aside for about an hour, go do something else. When it hardens put some 5 minute epoxie around the base of the burrs, your hide wont move.
JJ, Yours is a common problem. Remember to rebuild with clay where you removed meat from the skull plate. If you have a skinned head with the antlers still in place on the skull sometime when you are setting antlers onto a form, compare the two and you will quickly see the difference. If the skin is not properly supported it will surely pull away from the burrs. Good clay work combined with a quality adhessive will end you problem. Enjoy, Aaron H.
that the skin around the antler bases need to be thinned more,,,maybe not,,,,but it might be,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,jim
