Advice on Mini Flesher

Submitted by Bob on 11/29/05 at 5:56 PM. ( RNTAXIDERMY@AOL.COM ) 64.12.116.200

Just looking for comments on a hand held mini flesher. any comments are welcome, pro, or con. I am going to buy one, "I think". Im tired of fleshing by knife & scissors. I dont have the money for a table top model, but i could do the hand held. I am looking mostly at the flesh-all mini flesher sold by WASCO. thanks in advance for your input.

I use mine alot, it is messy, throws stuff everwhere . I hang up a shower curtain to keep the mess down. You will need a good air comp. to run it. I use one that is 5hp with a 60 gal. tank that does a good job

Bob, try this

Click that orange SEARCH icon in the left margin. Then type in "Flesh All Mini-Flesher". There are 140 separate posting on that tool and I'm sure you can't think of anything that's not already covered there.

Dan Rinehart has a mini-flesher in his catalog that is connected to a Foredom tool. That looks like it would be the best of both worlds. Better control of speed and not having to listen to the die-grinder scream and air compressor running constantly. I have an air model and like it but it is messy and noisy.

Foredom Tool

Bob,
The Electric Foredom Tool with fool control is very nice. The fleshing is messy, but you don't have the noise of a compressor or any air lines. The variable speed foot control allows you to even flesh the nose and face once you get good at it. The motor hanger that comes with it makes it very easy to mount on the table and it keep the everything out of your way.
