When scoring a whitetail antler with a forked G2, how do you determine which side of the fork is the main tine and which is the none typical side? I'm trying to score a rack with forks on both G2's.

Corey, this is one of those things that really needs to be seen to decide how to measure it. Is one of the forked points actually coming off another point or is it going down to the base? If it is going down to the base along the other point, is it sharing the base with the other point, do the points have a figure 8 pattern where it meets the base? If it does have the figure eight pattern, then it will be another point provided it meets the definition of a point. If it doesn't then one of the forked points has to be measured off the point coming off the base. Sometimes in complicated racks this becomes a judgement call. Which is usually made with the thought to not to unduly penalize the rack. If you look at the rack you may see that one point comes straight off the beam and one comes down to the webbing between the point and the beam. If that is the case you would measure down to the webbing.
Thank you for the information. It is pretty clear when you see the rack which half of the fork is coming off the base. So I will measure the point coming off the base as the G2 and the other half of the G2 fork will be measured as a non-typical point. Thanks again. That will bring the score to around 151 2/8 gross.
