50 year old deerskins tanned with arsenic?

I had about 50 deerskins that were 'tanned' about 50 years ago. What are the chances they were treated with arsenic (or any other toxin)? They are in soft, pliable, beautiful condition and I would like to sell them if they are safe.

I doubt it

Not likely for "tanned" skins. Arsenic soap was used more in taxidermy work to my working knowlege. It was used as an enbalming fluid in injecting wings and legs during a greater span. We used regular tanning methods for hides back then.
