deer hooves

when skinning out deer hooves how clean must they be? must you remove the bone completely? if so what is the best way to do this?

Down to the hooves. Buy a pair of "grape shears" from Research. Clip the tendons and snap the bones out.

Try to use a hook on a string hook it in the jont.Skin it down as far as you can .Take a hook blade kinfe ,you can get down in the hooves a loot batter.Win you get thim cut take a pair of viceskreps and put thim on the bone . Now hold the hoove on one side and twist hard it will most of the time pop right out. If not skin a lottle more and try agen.
