question on deer tail skinning

Hello all,

My question is can i skin part of the way down tail then use a tail skinner the rest of the way without ripping it.

just be careful, especially once you get close to the tip.

you can do it just like you said.loosen the skin up by rolling the tail back and forth.just take your time and it should pull right out, if it's a fresh tail.i have did this everytime i do a rump mount and one more thing. you don't have to make any extra cuts to get it to pull out.

you don't have to split a tail out at all.... i can't remember ever splitting a tail, i have skinned down as far as possible then pulled it out, but if you use enough power any tail will come out, even if it is cold or slightly freeze dried, use borax or salt for geip if need be
