refreezing wet tanned hide

anybody know if it is alright to refreeze a wet tanned hide. I had been prepping the hide to mount and was not able to mount it today so I put the hide back in the freezer. Anybody know if that was a problem.

no problem

If you are going to work on it tomorrow, just bag it and put it in the fridge over night. A few days in the fridge is ok up to a point, after to many days it will pool in the bag, and the bottom will be saturated, and become a good place for slip to start. And you will get unruly hair patches also.

its ok to refreeze

if you aren't going to get back to it for awhile it's ok to refreeze it. you can freeze and refreeze it a few times without causing any damage.

A good rinse though

If freezing be sure to give it a good rinse if it was tanned using salt. I am in the same boat as you and just hung the cape on a fur streatcher in an un heated room for the night. The room temp is about 40 degree's and the hide was pulled from the tan early this am. I will be ok until tomorrow this time and then must freeze if I cannot mount.
