tells you how to paint and finish it, step # 6 gives you the answer to the septum, or inner nostril as you call it.

Joe has a "Mounting a Flehmen White Tail" video which goes into detail on the finishing work as well as the mounting. I have this one to sell for $18 incl. shipping. e-mail me if interested.

Yes you must complete the finish work, It will come unpainted.
And yes you will cut the front lip and lip line off of your cape to the point about half way back the mouth where you will then tuck the rest of the mouth as normal. It is a very easy procedure to complete
and make's a very nice commercial mount. Good reference is a must as proper painting and finish work is what makes this mouth piece an eye catcher.

I've used them a few times and also bought the video mentioned above, which I recomend. Those mouth/nose peices seem to be a bit large for most forms. They are probably sculpted for Meder forms which have big noses. To use the product with most other forms I'd suggest ordering a size smaller. Forinstance, if you have a large cape that's say 8" by 23" and you are using a McKenzie form, then get the medium mouth peice.
