I completed a whitetail rump mount and the hair where it turns over the back where it gets nailed won't lay down. The hair in this area is very long and course and almost needs to bend in half where it makes this transision. I have applied a very thick hair gel material from Van Dyke's and wrapped plastic wrap around and let sit for a week and removed the wrap and it looked good for awhile but started to dry and lift back up.I'm not sure what the difference between this situation and where the hair turns on a shoulder mount, and I've never had this problem there. Thanks for any suggestions.

attatch the rump form to a piece of plywood with a couple screws and tuck the hair with a butterknife between the form and the plywood
boy a guy could really run with this one, but being the elegant player i am..................
You can't tuck the hair due to the fact it is running in the opposite direction than when you mount a shoulder mount. On a shoulder mount the hair is running toward the rear of the mount and can easily tucked behind, with this mount the hair is running from the back of the mount toward the front of the mount. Thanks any how.
Use Smooth Out as your glue and cut the hide so it fits right to the edge of the form and glue it. Pin when necessary and let dry. Make sure you get the glue on every centimeter of the edge of the form.
