I have been experimenting with casting my own pink transparent septum and I was wondering if anybody has done this and what did they use for the best results? I have made a couple of realistic looking septums and I think I just about have it, I still how ever wondering the best method to reproduce the vanes that run threw the septoms entior.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jamie

Do you have any reference that shows the veining in the septum? Is there really veining in the septum (cartilage)? Is this a case where a live deer might not score very well for a lack of the veining? I can't say either way but I do know a well known taxidermist that attests that they do not have veining in the septum.

Sadly that's what the competition judging has led to: a live deer wouldn't get a blue ribbon. I agree with your taxidermist friend.

Well.........

......there is inner nostril skin on both sides of the septum. Wether or not you could se any kind of veining in it is highly doubtful. It would be pink from the capilarie vessels in that skin.
