Meder Flehmen kit from McKenzie

I really loved to mount on the new 6400 head-up from McKenzie. This form is very well looking and very accurate. Now i would like to mount a flehmen buck with that McKenzie form.

My question is regarding the meder flehmen nose kit. I heard a lot of taxidermist who said that if you order the recommended nose kit size with the form. It looks a little bit wide (the upper jaw and nose look wider than natural). I also see a lot of Flehemen mounts on the net with that problem.

What is your opinion and your experience with that kit? Could it be better to order a size smaller (an work with clay if necessary) than the recommended size.

Thanks

I don't know if you are opposed to Joe's head up version, but from what I gather those will ironically fit his forms to a tee.

I've used them

several times and do order one size smaller when using them on McKenzie's forms. They look great though when finished, but they are pretty costly. I charge $25 above my normal open mouthed pricing to cover the cost of the mouthpeice.

Thanks
