Lines in Deer face

the whitetail deer I mount have lines in their face,(not vain lines) just like the hair is shorter in those lines . looks like crap .. any sugestions on how do I repair this.

Hair Problems

Judy, if it were only one, I would say battle scares, but if it's on all, I would say you are pulling the skin too tight on the face, causing these lines. I bet most of us tended to do this when begining. Try not to pull all the slack out of the face, instead, gather it, (taxi it) together, and the glue will hold it in place with less tighning as it dries. This is better illustrated on snakes, as you stretch it, the scales get farther apart, and as you gather it together they get closer together. Think of the hair like scales. Good Luck !


fleshing/shaving

how are you fleshing/shaving face, if you are using a scalpel that may be your answer, uneven fleshing/shaving will cause lines.
