I have a deer that I'm mounting and it has a cowlick in the middle of the neck(approx 1"x2"). I looked through the archives and found a few responses but nothing that applied. The skin was not flint dryed or shaved to thin in this spot. The form is the right size, actually a little small. When the cape is off the form this pattern still exists in the hair. Has anyone seen anything like this and is there anything that can be done to fix this or should I just let it be.

use a mixture 50/50 of water and conditioner the walmart cheap stuff works great, spray on work in and comb down and then let dry, or you can take a piece of plastic mesh and pin over the cowlick after you conditioned it and combed the hair down this will aid in the laying down of the hair back to the natural way.
Hi Paul, I killed a medium size buck last year that has a bunching of hair right on top of the neck and shoulder junction. It reminds me of a cowlick. The patch is about 3 inches tall and about 4 inches long. Only one I've ever seen. No way I could even try to hide it. Its just unique!
