I shot a 12 point buck this year and want to get it scored very massive, shot late muzzel.I know it needs to dry 60 days do I need to get to someone right at 60 days Can I do it latter and does any one know who to take it to in the waterloo iowa area? thanks

Tim, first-congrats on the buck it sounds like a dandy! Now on to the nitty gritty. The mandatory 60 day drying period is a MINIMUM, you dont have to have it scored right at 60 days. It would not affect the score at all to go beyond that, as the 60 day period is sufficent to completely dry the rack out. You can go to the Boone and Crockett website at http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/ScoringYourTrophy.asp?area=bgRecords to get instructions to pre score the rack yourself just for fun. However, to enter your trophy, it will need to be "officially" scored. You can find a certified scorer in your area by calling the records department at 1-406-542-1888 ext.204. or by e-mailing bcclub@boone-crockett.org Good luck and congrats again on the big buck.......Chad
you could also score it for the sci books. you do not need the 60 day drying period unless you are in the top 10. with the sci system you get credit for every inch of antler growth. www.safariclub.org check it out
