I searched the archives about them, but would like a little more insite. I have previously mounted capes dripping wet and had no problem with cowlicks. Started to tumble and am now plagued with them. Is the tumbling causing that or is there more behind it. Could I be fleshing to thin or what?

If I pull it out right after the tumble, I have no cowlicks. If I forget to take it out of the tumbler, and it sets in there an extra hour, I have cowlicks. I think when it sets crumpled in sawdust or cob grit, a spot that is exposed to the air, will dry out faster than the rest of the cape, and because it is crumpled, the hair in that spot stands the way that it dries. I think. Be careful not to over tumble.
