was taken in nov/05 by Stanley whitt with archery tackle.scores roughly 148 boone and crockett and had a 30" neck.for all the rumors out there go to www.boone-crockett.org/ then on the right select trophy watch..they try to prove or dispell the rumors.

So what's the big deal?

A buddy of mine shot a 425 live weight bruiser in Saskatchewan a few years back. In Leonard Lee Rue's "The Deer of North America" on page 129, he shows Dean Coffman posing with his 440 pound Iowa whitetail that was taken in 1962. On the same page, it documents Arnold Peter in Iron County Wisconsin who shot one that tipped the scales at 481 pounds and Robert Hogue of Sawyer County, Wis. who had one that field dressed weight of 398 pounds was recorded and estimated to have weighed 491 pounds in 1924.

The picture of that 425 is right there on the all in a 24x36 poster format. I have one in the freezer right now that went 325 on the hoof. Anyone who hunts Canada or does Canadian work might raise an eyebrow, but if deer are allowed to grow old, they'll get that big. Willow tipped the scales at 345 before he died. He was 16 and he was a Delaware deer. Since 90% of the deer killed here are 1.5 years old and weigh 150 pounds average, guess what OUR DEER might weigh if they got to be 4.5 to 6.5 years old.

I guess Im not surprised

...that this pic made it to these forums. The other sites I frequent all think the pic is fake, but I believe its real. Same reasons as George. I had a captive raised that pushed 400 lbs. I have pics of my daughter riding on his back in the summer. The bowhunting sites were the worst, lots of knowitalls. They hate seeing someone with something they dont have. Im doing a 325 ls now, as a matter of fact. Its not 412, but its a biggun.

Having one that's 412 is one thing but making it look 412 is another..Not one picture I have seen was taken normal, every one was taken to make the deer look bigger than he is.Just my opinion but quite obvious..Earl

It's Fake

If you look at the upper right picture at this address http://ehc.astate.edu/New_Folder2/Picture%20Page.htm

its totally obvious. Either its fake or that guys hand is bigger that his whole head. It doesnt even come close to being in proportion to his body. Why? because he blew that up with the dear. OOPPSS!

I know what you guys are saying, but...

I think of all the legit pics me and buddies of mine take, and look at, that have a big hand, or too many fingers, or something that looks out of scale and I always think how it looks like we faked it. Yet, of course, I was in the pics, or whatever and know they were not fake. It happens.
